Conky Alternative Cumulus for Linux Mint

An alternative for Conky has been released named as Cumulus. Cumulus is free of cost and open source amazing weather widget for Linux Distros. The Cumulus Conky alternative is compatible with Ubuntu latest 16.10 Yakkety Yak and 16.04 Xenial Xerus. Also available for Linux 18 Cinnamon and previous version 17, 13.

Cumulus is customizable including M/s, Fahrenheit, Kelvin etc. Also different kind of Colors is available you can choose the one you like the most. There is one thing you need to remember, to install the Compizconfig Settings Manager extra plugin and enable Windows Rules in Windows Management Tab after installation.

Install Cumulus Weather Widget in Ubuntu/Linux Mint

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cumulus-team/cumulus

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install cumulus

Don’t the Conky alternative widget yet. After the above commands and installation of the Cumulus Weather Widget. Just copy and paste the below commands in the Terminal to get the CCSM CompizConfig Settings Manager Extra plugins. Note if you have already installed the extra plugins for CCSM, then you don’t need the below process. When is everything is done successfully then run the Application from the Dash Search and put the location where you are (Anywhere). That’s it.

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager compiz-plugins
